A few September Macros...

This new coral was identified as a Psammocora sp. The polyps are very fine in extension.

Within the body are blue dots, which seem to be housing a type of barnacle. Small whiskers or eye lash-like hairs extend to trap food and quickly retract.

These zoanthids are mounted on a piece of Tonga Branch rock. Slowly they are spreading.

Pink Pocillopora Damicornis - the non-fuzzy kind.

A close up of my Maxima sp.

Leather Frags display good extension.

I know this was a huge picture to view, but I just didn't have the heart to resize it smaller. The zoos frame it nicely.

A macro shot of the Acropora sp. above.

Devil's Hand looking Kodak-worthy. :)

I'm always happy to see these tiny flowers on display.

This is my colt coral, fully compressed. Since it was stung by red mushrooms, it has yet to reinflate. It may never regain its former status.

My green acro always displays interesting veining.

This newest Acropora sp. is quite hairy, and next time I'll have to turn off the flow of water to get a more crisp shot.

This coral is encrusting and purple. Definititely an SPS, but I'm not sure which kind.
Perhaps Montipora digitata, or maybe it is Jeweled Coral (Porites cylindrica) or even a Finger Coral (Porites porites).
