Reefcast Episode 32
It's the first of the month, and what comes with that? A brand new episode of Reefcast! Episode 32 is up on Itunes, ready to download now. Enjoy.
Download page
If you are an iPhone user like I am, load up iTunes on your computer, go to the Store's Home page, then in the search bar, type in "reefcast" to find our shows. Subscribe to the podcast. It should start downloading the latest show. If you want previous ones, click on "Get Episode" to download more shows.
Plug in your iPhone and sync it up, and it will copy those podcasts to your phone to listen to when you are out and about.
And remember, every month on the first a new show will release.

Reefcast: Epic Episode 30

My reef is doing quite well. Here's the latest image.
A few projects recently completed:
Vodka Dosing Drip System
Manifold Project - it only took 9 months to get this one accomplished, but two friends made it happen
VorTech Battery Backup Surgery
Algae Scraper - I waited on this one forever, but glad I finally got it
The angled tank is doing well, and has been cleaned up more since this picture was taken. I guess I got that backwards. LOL

I'm in Southern California for the rest of the week. Yesterday it was beautiful. Today, cloudy but mild. My host took me to visit a few fish stores: Jeff's Exotic Fish, OC Aquariums, and Ali's Amazing Aquariums And Reefs. I got some great pictures to share with you when I get back home.

Reefcast help pages, and a referral system
I've decided to set up a Referral Program for those of you that have purchased a RO/DI unit from me. For the details, here's the link:

In other news...
The tank is doing quite well. I got in some new plumbing parts for the angled tank that I'm going to install very soon. I've been trying to find the perfect stand, but nothing seems right. I may just have to build my own instead. Stay tuned.
Evan came over this weekend and we worked on the next episode of Reefcast. It'll be out soon, and when it is I'll be sure to post it to my log.

I treated my tank with Red Slime Control, turned off the carbon reactor, cleaned the skimmer completely, turned off the refugium lighting, and will restart the skimmer in the next 24 hours. The water is a tad murky since it hasn't been skimmed in two days, but the cyano is yet again a thing of history.
I modified the second impellar to my Euro-Reef 12-2 to use mesh material, and am really looking forward to seeing how the skimmer does.

Reefcast: Episode 17
Episode 17 is available from Reefcast.com - this show is the Flower Gardens presentation given during the Saturday night Gala at MACNA XVIII. The Flower Gardens is the closest natural reef to Texas in the Gulf Coast. The video and slideshow was amazing; the audio is the next best thing.

Reefcast: Episode 13; and a loss to my family
FYI, Reefcast Episode #13 is available!
I'm heading to MACNA on Thursday, and Evan is riding shotgun. We're taking all the goodies for our Reefcast booth in the vendor's hall. While I'm away, I've recruited some local help to check on the tank once a day.
On a sad note, my grandmother died a couple of days ago. She lived to be 94. As soon as I'm back from MACNA, I have just enough time to check on the tank and pack for my flight the next morning to attend her funeral in Switzerland. Getting a flight in a hurry was an exhausting task, but I'm glad I'll be able to attend. I am a little worried about being away from my reef for so long with two back-to-back trips, but am going to just hope for the best.
